The Rimac Nevera R represents an evolution of hypercar performance, specifically engineered to elevate cornering dynamics while further enhancing its already record-shattering straight-line acceleration. Leveraging next-generation Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring, advanced braking systems, and a performance-optimized battery, the Nevera R delivers 2,107 horsepower. This potent combination enables it to achieve 300 km/h (186 mph) in a mere 8.66 seconds, surpassing the already exceptional acceleration of the record-breaking Nevera.
“When we initially developed the Nevera, a core objective was to create a Grand Tourer that balanced exhilarating performance with spaciousness, comfort, and accessibility,” stated Mate Rimac, Founder and President of the Rimac Group, CEO Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology. “We achieved a perfect equilibrium, resulting in a high-performance, record-setting vehicle capable of setting new benchmarks at the NΓΌrburgring Nordschleife and undertaking continent-spanning journeys in comfort. This was a transformative moment for automotive performance, ushering in the era of the world’s first production all-electric hypercar and leading a new generation. However, we are committed to continuously refining our offerings based on customer feedback. Many expressed a desire for a vehicle that more intensely emphasized the Nevera’s cornering prowess, utilizing its advanced onboard technology. In response, we present the Nevera R: retaining the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but engineered to be lighter, faster, and more focused.”
Rimac designers and engineers conducted an exhaustive assessment of the Nevera’s inherent characteristics, subsequently re-engineering key elements to position the vehicle further within the hyper sports car segment. Featuring more focused driving dynamics, a performance-centric battery, increased power output, and more sophisticated braking, the Nevera R also embodies a distinct visual identity driven by performance and refined through meticulous design.
Characterized by clean surfaces and an emphasis on achieving perfect proportions, the Nevera R presents a visually lower and sleeker profile, augmented by a forward-thrusting stance and the distinct pairing of 21-inch rear wheels and 20-inch front wheels. The front fascia is designed to be both striking and technically proficient, with horizontal lines that accentuate aerodynamic efficiency, stance, and width. This aesthetic was realized through close collaboration between designers and engineers, seamlessly integrating sensual surfacing and precise graphical elements into the front clam. From a side profile, the Nevera R exhibits a harmonious interplay between body color and carbon fiber, contributing to its timeless and dynamic silhouette. The wheels feature novel designs with extended spokes, enhancing their visual impact and distinct color split. The prominent fixed rear wing, coupled with an aggressive aerodynamic package that includes a new, larger diffuser, boosts downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. Equipped with new Michelin Cup 2 tires, the Nevera R achieves a 10% reduction in total understeer, a 5% increase in lateral grip, and a 3.8-second reduction in lap time around the Nardo Handling Track. Through this synergistic combination of negative camber, enhanced grip from the new tires, and increased downforce, the Nevera R is poised to redefine the limits of physics. Every component has been meticulously rethought to maximize agility and handling, adhering to a performance-driven design philosophy.
The Nevera R delivers enhanced performance with an even greater emphasis on driver engagement and feedback. It offers sharper and more precise cornering capabilities, facilitated by the next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (R-AWTV) system, which has been retuned to maximize the potential of the high-performance tires. Increased downforce contributes to enhanced stability and lateral performance, establishing a new benchmark for driving excitement on challenging B-roads and for occasional track excursions. The traction control system has been revised to expand the operational envelope of the R-AWTV, ensuring predictable handling even in wet conditions. Drift mode has been recalibrated to accommodate the new tire compound, and the steering system has been refined for more immediate response and crisper feedback to the driver.
Constructed around the next-generation 108kWh Rimac battery pack, the Nevera R utilizes cutting-edge technology to deliver augmented power and efficiency within a new, lighter architecture. With an available output of 2,107 hp, it achieves an even greater acceleration than the record-setting Nevera. The new EVO2 brakes, constructed from carbon ceramic with a silicone matrix layer, ensure superior stopping performance, enhanced cooling efficiency, and increased durability under demanding usage.
