The Rimac Nevera R elevates the performance and handling capabilities of the groundbreaking Nevera, representing a focused evolution for the ultimate driving experience. Engineered with next-generation Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring and advanced braking systems, complemented by a performance-optimized battery and an astonishing 2,107 hp, the Nevera R is meticulously designed for superior cornering prowess. It achieves its straight-line acceleration even faster than the record-holding Nevera, reaching 300 km/h (186 mph) in a mere 8.66 seconds.
Mate Rimac, Founder and President of the Rimac Group, CEO Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Technology, stated, “When we developed the Nevera, an important part of the brief was that it should be a Grand Tourer. We made sure it was spacious, comfortable and finely balanced between thrilling and accessible. Ultimately what we achieved struck that balance perfectly; a high-performance record-breaking car that could set new benchmarks at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and be driven comfortably thousands of miles across continents. It was a watershed moment in automotive performance; the world’s first production all-electric hypercar, single-handedly leading a new generation. But we’re relentlessly tweaking to customers’ desires, and many were looking for a car that really emphasized the Nevera’s cornering ability, using all the advanced technology on-board. We responded with the Nevera R: all the DNA of the record-breaking Nevera, but lighter, faster and more focused.”
Rimac designers and engineers conducted an in-depth assessment of the Nevera’s characteristics, re-engineering key elements to position the vehicle more definitively within the hyper sports car segment. Featuring enhanced driving dynamics, a more performance-oriented battery, increased power output, and more advanced braking systems, the Nevera R also boasts a distinct visual identity driven by performance and refined by design.
The Nevera R’s design is characterized by clean surfaces and a meticulous focus on achieving perfect proportions, resulting in a vehicle that appears lower and sleeker, with a forward-thrusting stance accentuated by 21-inch rear wheels and 20-inch front wheels. The front fascia is engineered to be both striking and technically sophisticated, with horizontal lines that emphasize aerodynamic efficiency, stance, and width. This design was achieved through close collaboration between designers and engineers, seamlessly integrating sensual surfacing with precise graphics into the front clam. The side profile of the Nevera R showcases a harmonious balance between body color and carbon fiber, contributing to its timeless, dynamic silhouette. The wheels feature new designs with elongated spokes that accentuate their size and distinct color splits. A substantial fixed rear wing, combined with an aggressive aerodynamic package including a new, larger diffuser, contributes to a 15% increase in downforce and a 10% improvement in aerodynamic efficiency. Equipped with new Michelin Cup 2 tires, the Nevera R achieves a 10% reduction in total understeer, a 5% increase in lateral grip, and a 3.8-second improvement in lap times around the Nardo Handling Track. Through this synergy of negative camber, enhanced tire grip, and increased downforce, the Nevera R is engineered to redefine physical limits. Every component, conceived under a performance-driven design philosophy, has been re-evaluated for superior agility and handling.
The Nevera R delivers an elevated performance experience with an intensified focus on driver feedback. It offers sharper, more precise cornering capabilities owing to the revised next-generation All-Wheel Torque Vectoring (R-AWTV) system, which has been retuned to maximize the potential of its high-performance tires. The increased downforce provides enhanced stability and lateral performance, setting a new benchmark for driving exhilaration on challenging B-roads and occasional track use. The traction control system has been refined to expand the R-AWTV’s capabilities, ensuring predictable handling even in wet conditions. Drift mode has been recalibrated to accommodate the new tire characteristics, and the steering system has been optimized for sharper response and more immediate feedback to the driver.
Constructed around the next-generation 108kWh Rimac battery pack, the Nevera R utilizes cutting-edge technology to deliver increased power and efficiency within a newly optimized, lighter package. With an available output of 2,107 hp, it surpasses the acceleration of the record-setting Nevera. The new EVO2 brakes are carbon-ceramic units with a silicone matrix layer, engineered to ensure superior stopping performance, improved cooling, and enhanced durability during demanding usage.
